Sherwood Trust Capacity Building Program A Success!

On July 12, CHSW acknowledged the support given by Sherwood Trust to support capacity building efforts in Walla Walla. CHSW is hoping to replicate this pilot program in other communities across the state in an effort to serve even more children and families.

Shrounda's Story: A Happy Reunion

Shrounda's long battle with drug dependency resulted in her daughter's removal and placement in foster care. $70,000 Grant to Provide Emergency Relief to Seattle Families

Children's Home Society of Washington is happy to announce the receipt of a $70,000 grant from the Seattle-based Paul G. Allen Family Foundation. The funds will support the creation of an Emergency Relief Fund at CHSW's North Seattle Family Center. 

Anthony's Story

Anthony Godoy spent his childhood in Southern California until a destructive home environment brought him 950 miles north to Children's Home Society of Washington's Cobb Center for Youth in Seattle. He was 8 years old. Under the protective and supportive guidance of legendary counselors Scott Hanouer, Bob Jones, and Katie Blue, Anthony started to feel safe again. His counselors showed him how to play the guitar, taught him how to shoot and develop photos (Cobb had a darkroom at the time), and planted the seeds for a lifelong career in the creative arts.
