What's New:
Sherwood Trust Capacity Building Program A Success!
On July 12, CHSW acknowledged the support given by Sherwood Trust to support capacity building efforts in Walla Walla. CHSW is hoping to replicate this pilot program in other communities across the state in an effort to serve even more children and families.

Program Provides Positive Role Models to At-Risk Parents
CHSW's HomeTeam program provides critical support and guidance to families who are socially isolated or experiencing high levels of stress. All families enrolled in the program have risk-factors for abuse and neglect, whether it be a history of childhood abuse, alcohol drug abuse by themselves or family members, poverty, homelessless, or a lack of a support system.

The Child Welfare League of America's November/December 2009 publication, Children's Voice, spotlights the approach that our Cobb Center takes to provide impacted youths and families with a stable environment in which to heal and grow.

CHSW 2010 Legislative Summary
The 2010 legislative session proved difficult as an unstable economy created challenges for our state legislators to balance the $2.8 billion budget. On April 13, the State of Washington ended a special extended session with the passage of a more than $30 billion supplemental budget that included new taxes and cutbacks to balance the budget and meet the needs of our most vulnerable children and families.
