In summer 2016, Children's Home Society of Washington and our partners Lake City Future First and Lake City Neighborhood Alliance received a $100,000 planning grant to create a strategy that will help improve the quality of life for residents in Seattle’s Lake City.
This initiative is called Imagine Lake City Together.
During the next 10 months, Imagine Lake City Together will listen to residents, community groups, service providers, nonprofits, elected officials and local businesses to determine priorities for community change and how to best achieve change together.
Building on the thoughtful work that has already been accomplished in Lake City, diverse community voices will guide a long-term strategy for making Lake City an even better place to live, work, learn, and play and to seek the resources necessary to bring that vision to fruition.
In one of first steps of this initiative, we are going to be conducting a resident satisfaction survey from Sept. 22-24 and we need volunteers to help conduct the survey. Volunteers will need to complete one hour of training before the start of the survey. Times and dates are the following and include the one-hour training time:
- 2-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22
- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24
Each volunteer receives an Imagine Lake City Together T-shirt, an identity badge, and as a token of our thanks, a small gift card from a Lake City business.
We hope that our volunteers can be available for at least a one-day during a four-hour time block. Each survey should take about 20 minutes to complete.
Households will have received a postcard about the survey. In exchange for their time, each participating household will be entered into a drawing for a nice prize.
For more information or how to volunteer, please email LakeCity@chs-wa.org or call 206-387-4505.
