As we deal with the unprecedented time our nation and world are experiencing, we optimistically look toward the future of returning to business in a new normal. Until we can re-open our offices and revert to in-person engagement, we are continuing to operate in a virtual world to provide robust support offerings to the children and families we serve, as well as remote work environments with minimal service interruptions. During this time, we are pleased to have been able to elect a new Spokane community leader and industry expert to our Board of Trustees – Roy Koegen – bringing the board’s total size to 22 members.
“As a Washington native with a long-standing history in the Spokane community, I am thrilled to join the board of Children’s Home Society of Washington,” Roy Koegen remarked. “I believe my professional expertise, coupled with my extensive local relationships will prove invaluable to the organization for years to come.”
As a Washington native, Roy Koegen primarily serves as bond counsel to states, cities, counties, school districts, special purpose districts, underwriters, banking institutions, colleges and universities. In addition, he provides general municipal advice to a large array of clients with respect to tax, investment, finance and regulatory issues. Roy has represented a diverse set of clients in the public finance sector, including governmental issuers throughout most of the western U.S., investment banks, commercial banks, universities, colleges and developers.
“Adding a leader to our board with a track record of long-standing community engagement and making a difference in the Spokane area underscores our commitment as an organization to making a difference in the lives of children and families in communities throughout Washington state,” said Andy MacDonald, board chair of CHSW. “We are enthusiastic about deepening our local connections in the communities we serve with the help of our very engaged Board of Trustees."
Roy’s election to the CHSW Board of Trustees is effective immediately.
“Our organization’s future will continue to be positively impacted by the unique expertise of our new member,” said David Newell, president and CEO of CHSW. “It is an honor to collaborate with our new board member – Roy Koegen – as we continue to strategize the evolution of our organization in light of the “new” normal we aim to thrive in following the current health crisis, and as we shape the next phase of our growth.”
